Here's a little info about the band:
Growing up performing songs and tunes learned from their musical parents The Sands Family and from other renowned musicians, it is no wonder this new folk group 'Na Leanai' (pronounced Na Lah-nee) are taking the Irish music scene by storm.
Na Leanai grew up as sons and daughters of the famous County Down Folk Group and after spending many of their years growing up singing with the family, they made the decision in 2014 to officially form the band. Band members include:
Sorcha Turnbull (Daughter of Anne Sands)
Ryanne Sands (Daughter of Ben Sands)
Eimear Keane (Daughter of Anne Sands)
Fra Sands (Son of Hugh Sands)
Moya Sands (Daughter of Tommy Sands)
Mastering the art of blending old and new, a gig will show you a djembe used with flute, whistles, fiddle and guitar as well as the more traditional bodhran.
With their first performance at last year's prestigious Fiddlers Green Festival in Rostrevor where they opened for top Trad Band Craobh Rua, Na Leanai soon after appeared on Radio Ulster Folk Club with gigs at Northern landmark venues like The Bronte Centre and Belfast's legendary Sunflower Folk Club.
2015 included a sell out concert alongside The Sands Family at the prestigious Fiddlers Green Festival in Rostrevor in which the group launched their critically acclaimed debut album 'Kindred Roots'.
As well as this Na Leanai played gigs all across Ireland and headed across the water to headline the superb Marymass Festival in Scotland.
As busy as 2015 has been it looks like 2016 could be even busier!
